The IWA Young Water Professionals programme engages water sector students and professionals under the age of 35, to become the leaders of the future.
YWP activities during the DIPCON 2010
The Young Water Professionals (YWP) Programme is one of the major Programmes within IWA to ensure that the future needs of the water sector are understood and well addressed and inter-generational dialogue is created. In electing two YWP onto the Group Board, the Diffuse Pollution has acknowledged the important role of YWP within IWA and the water sector. To enhance the involvement of YWP within the Diffuse Pollution Group, similar to World Water Congress 2008 several activities are planned for DIPCON 2010 in Quebec, Canada.
Activities to promote networking:
- YWP ticking box on registration folder to identify potential YWP
- YWP section on the conference website providing the information on the YWP programme itself and the YWP activities during the conference
- Coloured name badges indicating YWP
- YWP area at welcome reception to promote the networking between the YWP
Activities to promote scientific ambitions:
- Strong participation of YWP in reviewing process
- Mentoring Programme during the conference
- Prize for best oral and poster done by a YWP
