Sponsor Invitation

The International Water Association (IWA) Diffuse Pollution Specialist Group will be holding its 14th International Conference at the Château Mont-Sainte-Anne Resort Hotel in Beaupré (40 km from Quebec City), Canada in September 2010. In the past fourteen years, successful and well attended IWA International Specialist Conference on Diffuse Pollution (DIPCON) have been held in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The 2010 DIPCON will be the third one to be organized in North America after Chicago (1993) and Milwaukee (2001). The success of our well attended conferences results from fast growing knowledge and the needs for more information, learning and networking about diffuse pollution. Over 300 participants including scientists, economists, policy specialists and stakeholders working together to identify new approaches and solutions to address the variety and complexity of processes generating and delivering diffuse pollution from agriculture, urban, mining and forestry sources will be attending this conference.

The following themes will be covered during the 2010 DIPCON:

A. Diffuse pollution and contamination of ground water
B. Diffuse pollution from agriculture (including nutrients, pesticides and emerging contaminants)
C. Diffuse pollution from urban areas and roads
D. Diffuse pollution from forestry and mining
E. Nutrients and Eutrophication issues
F. Modelling, remote sensing and monitoring
G. Economics, Policies, regulations and education to control diffuse pollution
H. Integrated watershed management towards controlling diffuse pollution
I. Evaluation of mitigation measures for diffuse pollution
J. Defining ecological targets for ecosystem sustainability
K. Long range transport of pollutants

We strongly believe that this conference is a great opportunity for your organization to promote your expertise among worldwide influential individuals and to express in concrete terms your support in new approaches and solutions to protect natural resources. We would like to offer you and your organization the opportunity to participate and be advertised during the conference as part of our conference sponsorship program (see attached document).

We invite you to be a sponsor and if you have any questions concerning this opportunity, please do not hesitate to contact secretariat@dipcon2010.org.

Sincerely,
