Dr. Victor Shiholo Muhandiki
Dr. Victor Muhandiki is an environmental engineer educated at the University of Nairobi, Kenya and Kyoto University, Japan. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Global Environmental Leaders Program, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University, Japan. Over the last fifteen years he has worked and researched in the area of water resources management. His particular area of interest has been assessment of Integrated Lake Basin Management (ILBM), a multidisciplinary research focused drawing lessons about effective lake basin governance from the view point of six governance criteria, namely, institutions, policies, stakeholder participation, technology, knowledge and information, and financing. He has also been involved in studies on development of evaluation methods for Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects in the water and environment sectors. He has travelled widely in Asia and Africa to undertake field surveys in these areas. Given his background as coming from a developing country and residing in a developed country, one of his main interests has naturally been assessment of relevance and transferability of experiences between developed and developing countries.
