Prof. , BOKU - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria, Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control
Department of Water, Atmosphere, Environment.
She has a Master degree in Food- and biotechnology, Doctoral degree, Dr. rer nat. techn. in the field of engineering, Habilitation in the field of environmental chemistry
Her main interest is in water and environmental chemistry, environmental monitoring to investigate the fate and behavior of pollutants (e.g. endocrine disrupters, drugs, POPs, heavy metals, cytostatics) in water, wastewater, sewage sludge and aquatic systems, pollution assessment, pollution prevention and removal processes, water quality management, sustainable use of sewage sludge, sewage sludge management, groundwater protection, watershed management and in the development of environmental indicators. Special emphasis is put on risk analysis, risk management and risk reduction measures for drinking water and waste water, including source control and emission reduction including removal processes e.g. adsorption, flocculation, chemical and photo-degradation, oxidation, photo-Fenton and biodegradation.
